Soul Journeys and Sacred Dances - workshop

Dance expertise is not necessary as we enter our body spaces through movement. We will look at our poetic inner landscapes and protect our spaces. We will use our hearts intelligence as
we encounter The Serpent of our Inner Power :))

The ability to move from our 3D world into an altered state where original healing occurs,
is a valuable skill. Exploring our inner realms with confidence and support, a space appears
where dreams are born and choices made.

$80
- Please put in a deposit by 10th Aug. If you have a problem with payment, let us know and we can make a sliding scale arrangement with pleasure :)

Bring a packed lunch, your journal, something to lay down on and a covering. Wear comfy clothes.

from my writings.

Complexity theory and quantum physics have shown the primal uncertainty of our understanding of being in this world. Explorations of how the brain functions and neuropsychology during a shaman’s journey link Heidegger’s debate that understanding is “always ahead of itself” thus projecting expectations that interpretation attempts to clarify. Physicist Von Neuman’s contribution, asserts that “we futuristically collapse a wave function in ways that cause a fundamental, unknowable disturbance in the system”...creating and spontaneously bringing into existence something that did not exist before. Therefore, it can be said that we “know” already, what the synecdoches and metaphors mean, when they are retrieved from our inner conscious by a shaman artist who brings them forth in creation.

Journey Workshop

This workshop space is unique in that it stretches out onto the rocks in Muizenberg. It is a heritage site and soon to be renovated into an upmarket venue. The sea will surround us, and the mountains will stand behind. The weekend will be full of ocean and water, representative of the journey that we will all be on. Just as those explorers set out to find the new lands and opened up new spaces to all of us, bringing us into contact with a far vaster range of culture than we were aware of, so these journeys open up inner spaces that we will have to cross vast waters to appreciate. In the evenings we will gather over supper to share and using the group energy to deepen the experience. As one wise man said, “Each one of us is a spark of Divine energy. But when we gather in Sacred space, we become a flame.” We will encounter the shape of our cloaks, and discover wonderful new spaces for reparation.

We gather for supper on Friday night the 4th of Feb and through the honoring of the Sabbath day, we facilitate the transition from mundane to sacred space. For the work to be most effective, we need the space of honoring, of unconditional love. We will discuss and describe some of the processes, the purpose and goals of the processes we will be exploring during the weekend.

Essentially we will be leading you on journeys into the inner realm, the place of our avatars, where our non-material bodies, our souls, exist. There we will seek out and encounter the veils that our souls are clothed in that are essential for our incarnation on our 3D Mother Earth. We use the Kabbalah and the Sefirot of Compassion, Passion, Creativity, Majesty, Mercy, Severity and Foundation to explore the shape of these veils.

Each time, upon our return, we will ground these experiences in this world by some expression of what we have discovered, either through drawing (no art experience necessary) and/or writing and/or various interactions with the ocean and its natural gifts that we will be ensconced in.

In the evenings, we will gather together to share bread and our stories. Only when we interact as compassionate witnesses from our higher hearts do we truly understand. And the images and energies that we will discover will speak to us of these things.

Bring something to lay down on while journeying and to sleep on if you want to stay over (please let us know if you would like to do this).

AND :))...

WE WILL HAVE SOME GREAT MOVEMENT ON SAT EVE !!

and a special WATER CEREMONY:))

Bless you all. May we all learn the ways and deepen our understandings of that infinity we are custodians of.

LOVE TO SEE YOU HERE :)

With much love,

Julian & Lyn.

If you are interested in the deeper components of this workshop, read on...
The content of the workshop is based on the Kabbalistic Tzimtzum ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tzimtzum ) and the Sephirot ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sephirot#Listings ).

In short, when God created the world he (and I use the masculine specifically here) created spaces for existences. That is the Tzimtzum part. It is in these spaces that we find our cloaks.

The Sephirot are the spheres that make up the Kabbalistic Tree of Knowledge. You have probably seen it. Each sphere emanates a specific quality or characteristic. We will be journeying for 7 of these emanations for the workshop (there are 10 Sephirot) These emanations are: Chesed = Mercy, Gevurah = Severity, Tiphareth = Compassion, Netzach = Passion, Hod =Majesty, Yesod=Foundation and Malchut= in this instance for Malchut, we will journey for our cloak of Creativity.
Kabbalistically, each of these emanations are like Cloaks for the Soul to exist here on earth, we wear them as characteristics of that expression of ourselves.

So, we will do a series of journeys to find our character of these emanations and when we return from the journey, we will draw or write a rendition of that characteristic of our soul (so we can see it), see what state our cloaks are in, explore what we can do if repairs are needed, open wonderful new spaces. For example what does the state of your cloak of Mercy look like, what does your cloak of Passion look like, what does your cloak of Majesty look like?

It may sound complicated because of the Kabbalah but one doesnt need to know all that as these journeys can be used on many levels (psychoanalytically, poetically, artistically, or shamanistically to heal and understand those parts of ourselves)
. The journeys are sacred and personal so whatever way it speaks to a person is correct.

Your journeys will be guided in safe and supportive surroundings :)

All you really need to know is that you will journey to find out about 7 characteristics that cloak your inner souls!

about Journey Work

Learning Journey Work

The ability to move from our 3D world into an altered state where original healing occurs is a valuable skill. Exploring our Inner Realms with confidence safety and support, a space appears where “dreams are born and choices made”.

This sacred work can apply itself to source and clear up issues. We learn the ethics of recognizing places of empowerment and how to follow energy trails. Through self inquiry and heart intelligence we learn to extend our sentences through the poetry of our souls.

Journey work is a way to

    • Communicate and work with your guides;
    • Find places of peace, empowerment and enjoyment;
    • Re-member the magic of our lives;
    • Understand our narratives and archetypes;

Sessions cost R350 for 1½ hours each. Most often at least 3 sessions are recommended. These journeys can continue as needed or desired and sessions will be guided to take the form necessary to get the work done. Sliding scale/barter payment may be discussed.

Land Spirit in Tuscany

I lay down in the forest on the thick winter brown leaves to communicate with the spirit of the land, the rounded mountains. I asked to be see how it is. I was shown deep red rivers running down the mountain sides. Tree roots twining and bifurcating from the banks, expanding and plaiting, forming bridges across the red. Then under the rivers, more red, warm, covering the countryside. And deeper still, the fire. I was told that the volcano fires were close, too tight with energy. I asked if there was anything I could or should do. The spirit of the land asked me to unwind some of this energy. Later, in the snow covered patches, I uncoiled the energy by teasing out a serpent in the snow. My intention was to gently let go some of the tension caught up in spiral.

Transforming serpent softly melting into our earth.

SHAMAN JOURNEY WORKSHOP - MAY 2009

Hi everyone,

Lyn and Julian are excited to host another Shamanic Journey workshop at the Blue Hippo Tipi Village. http://www.bluehippo.co.za/

LIFE CHANGING, GOOD FUN, INTENSIVE and EMPOWERING

This is not workshop retreat, it is a workshop advance :)) However, one does not need to be an advanced journeyer to attend and enjoy. It is safe and supportive of those who have never journeyed before and for those who want to expand their knowledge. We leave feeling rejuvenated. We spread beautiful balm on our Spiritual selves by attending to it. Aaaah :))

The workshop is about exploring and growing our personal journey skills without the aid of entheogens, being more connected and empowered with our Spiritual lives. We feel that it is very important to learn how to safely negotiate these inner and Spiritual spaces. The protocols and spaces thereof.

The program will be fairly similar but different to our last one in Feb. More news soon on this. Please see some photos from the last workshop on the previous blog or info on the web from the last event on lyn.spazaspace.com/Shaman

We would like to book numbers of participants by 15th April, so please let us know. The cost is R1,750 for the weekend. This includes great food and lodging (in tipis or camping or if you prefer something a little more cultured, in the guest house)

Please contact Lyn on [email protected] or Julian on [email protected] or you can phone us on 021-7881337 or Lyn 0832313704, Julian 0832265482

Please share this with your friends,
Many blessings and exciting journeys,
Lyn and Julian.

Shamanism and Quantum Physics

What can I say. Straight from the horses mouth. Shamanism is becoming the word for the science of the inner "quantum" spaces that we are becoming more and more conscious of.
Still, only theoretical physicists and fanatical priests seem to have that zealous look in their eyes:-)

A Visit to Credo Mutwa, African Shaman

We went with John way up to the Northern Cape desert where the rose quartz live. "The Beautiful Ones", Credo Mutwa calls them. He lives there with his Bushmen sangoma wife, Virginia, and her family.

We had to wait awhile until we were received. Mutwa is an old man now and Africa takes her time. So we pottered about in the sun, taking photos of his flamboyant and visionary sculptures, taking in the flat red and dusty earth of the Kalahari and then gathering in the stone healing circle for a sound meditation led by Niyan. That was lovely and we all felt the benefit.

And then the time came for us to meet Baba Credo Mutwa, resplendent and genuine. Cool in his lounge of rich colour, we sat around with greetings, discussions and fabulous stories. Mphephu (an African sage) rising and filling our senses. He gave everyone African names and spoke with urgent pleas to assist the plight of South Africa.

Late in the night a white dolphin came to visit me, she took me to New York City where aliens chased me and I broke their heads off and squeezed their juice out. The following day, we gathered in Credo Mutwa’s temple, a stunning and interesting room again with rich colour. As I looked up, the large painting above me was of...a dolphin, New York City and bad aliens. These aliens abducted Credo Mutwa many years ago and he still bears the scars.

He told us of ancient times when African kings would reconcile over a clay bowl of water which contained 12 of The Beautiful Ones. He told us how to move huge stones with sound and how he cured aids patients. That the Strandloopers (beach walkers) from very long ago were aliens who couldn’t get home and could only eat perlemoen. They were buried in fetal position, sitting up with a perlemoen shell pressed to the ear so that they could hear their home in the stars. All the many stories of the day told with love and sincerity.

Credo Mutwa spoke about how art purifies the blood and that there are certain illnesses that can only be cured by creativity. He also said that if a healer has never been sick then he is useless because then he does not know how to feel. He discussed the healing properties of some plants, Kankerbos, Sutherlandia and Devil’s Claw.

I share with you, a few colourful images.
